5/6/26 : Poetry – “Albatross Love”

By S.R. Fergi

——

I want to be lost

Don’t want to be found

Call me your albatross

Float near solid ground

I wanted to be yours

The timings never sound

Left on broken shores

But still I’ll be around

Love is pain

Love is loss

Love is rain

But our love was strong

This love is a shout

The fates gave me that choice

This love became a drought

This love took my voice

I wanted to be yours

Wanted you to be mine

In a field of ferns

Your head by my side

Tell me what you want

I’ll give you what I can

The past will always haunt

But I am just a man

Love is pain

Love is loss

Love is rain

Our love can grow back strong

Tell me what you see

Do you feel the breeze

Can you hear the fog

Whisper through the trees

I wanted to be yours

Wanted you to be mine

Need to feel the north

Winds upon my spine

I don’t want to fight

I don’t want to lie

Albatross in flight

Wings beneath our eyes

Love is pain

Love is loss

Love is rain

Our love has flown on
