5/26/26 : Poetry – “Lady Earth’s Nature Words”

By S.R. Fergi

——

I tried, I failed. I whispered, I wailed.
Then winds blew calm, then fierce, then on.
Then trees gave roots and words I once knew.
The grasses, a calm bed for this soul askew.

I tried, I failed. I struggled, I flailed.
Then ocean sprayed salt to remind me to breathe.
Then shore skipped sand ‘cross eyes not wishing to see.

I lied, I bailed. I proffered, I hailed.
Then flowers spoke words, and assured ‘gain me to start.
And Lady Earth, unturned, sparked yearn back into my heart.
